Show You Should Know: Honeysuckle CD Release at The Sinclair (6/21)

Honeysuckle has long been a favorite of ours here at RLR. From the very first time we met Holly, Chris and Ben at Newport Folk when they won the chance to play on the Museum stage through a Converse and NFF collab, we knew they had something special.

The band has surely evolved and fine tuned its sounds over time. Chris “Gooch” Bloniarz’s pedal board seems to be every expanding and the songwriting and singing duties have become more shared over the years to great effect. One thing remains, the roots that extend far into the deepest caverns of American Folk music and the certain pureness of their sounds (no matter how much verb might be soaking those mandolin lines). They are a band that hits hard even when the most subtle of moments is being presented with a rich vocal harmony or trickling banjo line.

This Friday they celebrate the release of their new record Fire Starter, where they explore even further those outreaches of sonic landscapes that have driven the band for so many years. Joining them is the inimitable Sam Moss and progressive bluegrass all stars Twisted Pine.

Get out folks.
