Peep This: Tyler Childers “House Fire”
Tyler Childers has proven time and time again he isn’t afraid to burn things down. The singer-songwriter has exploded in recent years and with good reason. His songwriting is prime. His delivery is unrivaled. And the attitude and grit that he pours into his art is the pinnacle of the country music genre these days.
As artists we often undergo metamorphoses and changes. Adapting our craft or injecting newly found influence. I have been chasing what that is for a long while now both in terms of my own writing and what I listen to. With Childers I have found the perfect coalescence of life’s brightest triumphs and darkest emotions. The pure and candid way in which a great song from a great songwriter can indeed rise to the top and outshine the bullshit that it had to wade through to get there in the most beautiful and inspiring way.
Childers is unapologetic honesty and well worn human emotion amalgamated in artist form. If “House Fire” is any sort of preview of whats to come on his forthcoming record, well the landscape of good, sincere music and songwriting is in wonderful hands. And for that, I am truly fucking thankful.
Country Squire releases on August 2. Go pre-order it now.
