Buy from Bandcamp this Friday (2/3), Proceeds to ACLU
This Friday Bandcamp has just announced that all of the proceeds from sales will be donated directly to the ACLU. Bandcamp has been an immeasurably helpful tool and ally for artists and songwriters since it first came into existence. Allowing a place to stream and sell your music with a small share going back to the company. This Friday I urge everyone to buy music from Bandcamp from an artist they may have been holding out on, something old, something new or something you don’t even know. Lets make this thing blow up, celebrate artists and do something good to support ALL of the people who are seeking a better life here in the States.
From Bandcamp: This Friday, for any purchase made on Bandcamp, we will donate 100% of our share of the proceeds to the American Civil Liberties Union, who are working to oppose last week’s Executive Order barring immigrants and refugees from seven Middle Eastern countries from entering the United States. Please read more about our position here, and help us spread the word.
I would suggest picking up Zach Schmidt’s latest “The Day We Lost the War“, Ian Fitzgerald’s “You Won’t Even Know I’m Gone“, or either of Josh Oliver’s previous two records. We have been spinning them like crazy.
Or if you want and haven’t yet, pick up any (or all of) the Locals Covering Locals compilations. While they are always free to download you can name your own price if you want to and we will follow in Bandcamp’s footsteps and donate any of the proceeds made directly to the ACLU as well.
Keep on keepin’ on and fighting the good fight friends.
