Let’s Duet Old School: J.P Harris Announces Release of Duet Project “Why Don’t We Duet In The Road” (Nikki Lane, Kristina Murray, Leigh Nash, Kelsey Waldon)

When we spoke with J.P Harris back in July at Newport he eluded to some new projects in the works, but allowing them the proper time to come to fruition and happen organically. Well, we may not be getting a Harris original collection in early 2017 (at least not that we know of yet) but we do get the next best thing. A collection of country classics sung as duets with some of the best that the genre has to offer.

Harris will be joined on 4 classic country tracks by 4 different female singer-songwriters…its like a modern day Johnny and June or Graham and Emmy-Lou happy surprise to end your year with…and get in the New Year.

From Harris’s website:

JP Harris is proud to announce the release of “Why Don’t We Duet In The Road,” the first in what is to be a series of vinyl-only duet recordings with some of Nashville’s finest musicians. This installment features classic country duets with Nikki Lane, Leigh Nash (of Sixpence None The Richer), Kristina Murray, and Kelsey Waldon. Originally a witty title for a one-off show JP put together in Nashville, “Why Don’t We Duet” sprang into an idea of capturing a moment in time; many folks have come and gone from Music City, and though all just small players on the long-standing stage of its country music industry, JP thought it prudent to leave something to remember this particular cast by.

Limited to 500, this hand-numbered, double-7″, gatefold jacket, random-color vinyl release is available for preorder through Dec. 30th. Tier one preorder includes the record, a poster sized print autographed by JP and all four ladies, and free US shipping. Tier two preorder includes the same in addition to your choice of a preorder-exclusive “Why Don’t We Duet In The Road” tank or tee, made to order and available only with this campaign. When they’re gone, they’re gone!

Thats right folks, limited to 500, so get them while the getting is good…and get over to J.P.’s instagram, share his post and be entered for a chance to win a signed test pressing of the vinyl.
