Peep This: Hannah Rose Baker “I Have Your Name (Pennies)” Video

Hannah Rose Baker is a singer-songwriter and fiddler from the Somerville area. Classically trained and with a keen knowledge of tradition, she mixes her skill for playing with a love and appreciation for the old time stuff. She just released a new video for a track from her upcoming release titled “I Have Your Name (Pennies)”.

There is a sparsity to the first half of the track that matches the video perfectly. Baker is standing alone in front of an old style mic in the middle of a wall filled with a plethora of brightly colored windows. As the track amps up, the frame changes and the songwriter is playing the fiddle part of the song. It is one of the more unique takes on a video that I have seen. With the track playing out as she is singing and then swapping as the track builds. A simple and elegant song that is reminiscent of old folk and traditional styles. Sailing fiddle lines and the emphasis on keeping things light in the arrangement and moving along as it builds.

Hannah Rose Baker is celebrating the release of a brand new EP this coming Monday (12/19) at Pete’s Candy Store in NYC. You can stream and buy that self titled EP on Bandcamp.
