Peep This: Zach Schmidt and The High Life “Company Man” Live in Burlington, VT

There are a lot of pretty good artists out there, ones that have been good for a while and continue to be pretty good as time goes on. Then there are artists who continue to improve upon their craft, their stage presence, their songwriting, their playing, and their over all being as a creator. Zach Schmidt falls into that category. Each time I see Schmidt perform he continues to amaze me with his desire to give an audience a show, not just a collection of storied songs over the course of an evening, but a true showman is present in this man’s bones. The ever changing landscape of his set takes you for a ride of low downs and two stepping high kicks that will make you feel all the feelings, drown your sorrows in a cold beer and then get back on the dance floor and move until the early hours of the morning.

Zach brought his band “The High Lifes” on up to Burlington this past weekend. With Adam Kurtz on lead guitar and pedal steel, James Maple on drums and MorganEve Swain on upright bass and vocals it was quite a show and that small room at the Radio Bean was packed to the brim and the house was rocking until long after their allotted time slot…which even the bartender had no problems with as she danced behind the bar to the tunes.

Here is the band performing Zach’s tune “Company Man’ which is off of his upcoming release ‘The Day We Lost The War”
