Boston Music Awards 2014 Nominations Announced…

Say what you will…”so and so wasn’t on the list” or “they aren’t even living in Boston any more”, this year’s BMA noms have come leaps and bounds from previous year’s in this humble writer’s opinion. To see folks like Dan Blakeslee, Joe Fletcher, Nate Leavitt and Lake Street Dive (yes, even if they don’t ‘live’ here…its been a banner year for those guys and we should be damn proud and happy for them here in Beantown) is an absolutely undeniable step in the right direction from previous nods to Aerosmith (let’s beat that dead horse til its alive, and then dead again) and giving the awards back to the people. Hell, I can even put on a smile for my fellow bloggers and think that the nominations in best blog are all super deserving and wonderful folks doing great things for music here in town. As for Red, there’s always next year. Check out the nominations below, and get voting. Your voice matters.
