Describing the show she’s curated this weekend at The Burren, Rachel Baldwin says, “It’s a family affair.” Rachel is playing her last show with her current backing band before they take off for new cities. But Low Ceilings used to be Rachel’s backing band and they’re back in town for the show. And the former Low Ceilings bassist is now part of Sappho and The Radishes, of Somerville, and they’re opening the night.
I love these nights, because you can feel it in the audience when the bands have real connection and affection for each other. They create and cultivate that sense of community that we all want the live music experience to be. And it doesn’t hurt that, in this case, you have three acts that all write captivating lyrics and push themselves musically to best express the full range of emotions that they try to capture.
Get out there on Saturday night!
