Basic Folk Podcast Live! Comes to Passim (7/11)

We live in a time where conversations ofter include “so, what podcast are you listening to these days?”

Headphones on a plane across country, in the van between gigs or riding the train or bus to work, podcasts have become (probably) as popular as listening to tunes in these environments. But, the actual process of such is often times a black box that happens in someones studio home, or a hotel room or perhaps a meet up at a cafe.

Well, Club Passim and Basic Folk have teamed up to lift the curtain and unveil the behind the scenes operations of the podcast. This Thursday, 7/11, Cindy Howes the host of the Basic Folk Podcast will be recording an episode of her podcast live at Passim. On the show Cindy interviews various folk artists about their career, personal life and inspiration behind some of their biggest songs. Thursday, Cindy will interview Melissa Ferrick.

Ferrick has released 17 albums over the last 24 years and has shared the stage with Morrissey, Marc Cohn, Paul Westerberg, John Hiatt, Joan Armatrading, Weezer, Tegan and Sara, G-Love & Special Sauce, Bob Dylan, Dan Bern, Ani DiFranco, k.d. Lang, Suzanne Vega, Shawn Colvin, and many others.

Its going to be a truly interesting event and we highly recommend checking it out…and in the meanwhile you should check out the podcast’s episodes to gear up for the live show.

Its only $5, so grab up some tickets now: https://passim.secure.force.com/ticket/#sections_a0F6A000005M3DVUA0
