Peep This : The Wolff Sisters “Drive”

Live recorded video sessions. If you can’t see a band live, I think its probably the next best way to really know what you are getting and with the Wolff Sisters you get a whole lot. There is a comfortability to their songs. You can ease right into them in a way that leaves you feeling like you know these songs even if its your first time hearing the band. Its not quite country, its not quite rock n’ roll, but it sits at the sweet spot where the influence of each of the band members is weaved into the tapestry that makes up their well worn sound and thats just how we like it.

Rebecca Wolff has such a cool confidence to her voice. A maturity that feels far more experienced than her actual age. Like the sounds you first heard when you stole a listen to your mom and dad’s vinyl as a kid. A sound that washes over you and leaves you with a divine warmth in your heart.

The band follows suit as the steadiness of the rhythm section holds it all together. Rachael Wolff’s lead lines dotting the ends of each phrasings with a bluesy tendency dovetailing in a perfect way that is never over zealous but each note having purpose. Subtlety is something the sisters do incredibly well and typically only comes packaged in the format that siblings can deliver. Kat Wolff’s harmonies the perfect icing on the cake as her key notes slowly trickle under the heavier sections of the song.

This is the first in what I have heard is a series of singles being released as they make their way to their next album release. Keep an eye out for the next singles and go see the band live as soon as you get the chance.
