Wyn Doran is a songwriter from NH. Splitting her time between this solo endeavor and shouldering writing duties in the indie rock outfit Strangers by Accident, we get a glimpse at a more intimate and stripped down performance from the singer-songwriter here in today’s Peep This.
The slight rasp to her voice mingles with a the hushed softness she delivers it with in a truly beautiful way. The words whisping out into the air to dance about your head and ease into smoke as the next line is delivered. Lingering there in the air and slowly dissipating as the next lines of the song push them aside. Highlighted in tinges of soul that mix with the folk sentiment of an artist and an acoustic guitar, its a mix that works particularly well for her amidst the record lined walls of Tres Gatos.
We are all about collaboration here on RLR and would be remiss if we didn’t mention the roots of how this video came to us. Our pal Rachael Wolff (who you may know as the Strat slinging, solo ripping member of The Wolff Sisters) has recently launched a new project called “Sound Drift Sessions”. Its only been about 2 months since the first video hit the interwebs and she has already featured 6 artists over there on the Youtube channel. A project after our own heart, highlighting local musicians in interesting local spots playing their songs. Go check out all the videos…and check out the session with Wyn below…
