Show You Should Know: GMBR presents The Honeydew Drops (5/3 Peru, VT)

Our friends at Green Mountain Bluegrass & Roots are back at it again bringing great music to areas of Vermont where we can be severely lacking in great options for killer music on any given night of the week. For those that don’t want to trudge all the way to the big city of Burlington or out of state and south to Northampton, MA and beyond, this is your show right here. GMBR has made it a point to bring excellent artists form all over the country to the shire towns in Southern Vermont and they are doing it again in just a week’s time.

The Honey Dewdrops may be just two voices and two instruments, but to capture the hearts and souls of folks sometimes thats all you need if you can do it right. And Laura Wortman and Kagey Parrish certainly do it right. The parallels between their Appalachian mountain roots of their sound and the rolling green hills of Peru, Vermont and the surrounding areas. Harmony drenched, acoustic driven gorgeous sonic landscapes will melt you down into a puddle of emotion then build you back up with the light and energy in their performances.

I’ll just leave you with this. Go see them in Peru on May 3rd…
