Peep This: Mile Twelve “Innocent Again”

How fast is too fast to keep up with in bluegrass music? That’s a question that the folks of Mile Twelve are consistently pushing the answer to with their music and the video for “Innocent Again” of of their just released new record, “City on a Hill” is another testament to that fact.

The monochrome video gives us a backdoor glimpse of the band as it meanders between the quintet sitting around in a circle running through the tune and the tracks being recorded in studio for the album. Fingers working furiously against the fingerboards and the driving harmonies and rhythms of the band landing with a gut punching, hell fire romp. Faster and faster until you think the wheels may just come off, but the members never lose sight (or control) of this locomotive of a song.

“Innocent Again” just further proves that Mile Twelve is one of the most exciting, energetic and imaginative bands in the modern day bluegrass landscape. Taking the songs and genre that they love and adapting it for a modern roots loving audience. Slight switches in chord progression and arrangement, playing just a hair quicker than many of their contemporaries are able to and constantly challenging themselves to bridge the gap between tradition and innovation.

“City on a Hill” is out now. Order it through the band’s site or whatever online retailer you prefer. Just get it.
