Lyle Brewer has been making waves the past few years with his instrumental records. He is able to say so much in his songs, without actually speaking any words. His guitar playing is emotive, moving and poignant. I’ve teared up on occasion listening to his original compositions and the covers on his 2016 release Postcards were brilliant kudos to artists who he so obviously has a respect and admiration for.
Brewer is a seemingly bottomless pit of creativity and his latest record, July 2018’s single Graphics, further explores to depths to which the songwriter can reach using an instrument to portray stories and landscapes. It’s another beautiful milestone for him as an artist and songwriter. And he hit us again, with a new full length called Get It Together, just last month. 2019 is already shaping up to be a good one for Brewer, so get on board.
He returns to Club Passim this coming Sunday (2/17). If you are in the area, get out and catch him live. Its a show that will leave you feeling full and emotionally charged. Tickets are HERE. Show is at 7 PM.
In the meanwhile, we will just be here listening to this new record over and over, we suggest you do the same…
