Peep This: Session Americana and Ali McGuirk cover Morphine’s “The Night”

Some bands or artists do not necessitate a description…and are often incredibly difficult to adhere a label to. You simply are in the know about just how generally badass they are, or you failed. A new-ish collaboration between two artists who fall in to that subset has recently unearthed a video session shot by our pal Jason Elon Goodman aka Salt Stage.

That collaboration comes in the form of a beautiful synergy between Session Americana and Ali McGuirk, its that perfect blend of jazzy smooth silk and raucous folk rock that intertwinesto produce a jubilant explosion of sound and a collaboration that shines brilliantly. There is a familiarity and mutual admiration between artists at the peak of the roots music community, that makes this joining of forces even more special to witness. Like old friends sharing stories and songs. The band is fluid and the energy is electric. An effortless blending between genre and voices, collecting together to form something new and beautiful.

Be sure to check them out live if you get a chance and check out the video below in the meanwhile. They are not going to disappoint…and who knows what other special tunes they have up their sleeve? Time will tell I am sure.

Oh yeah, they just announced a co-tour in April. Go see ’em!
