For those that have seen Rob Flax perform, you realize he is an incredibly versatile and innovative musician. He explores and views the sonic landscape differently than a lot of people. Seeing things in ways that are exciting and inventive. The latest from him is a collaborative effort with friends under the banner of “barrenOaks”. Flax taking center stage singing and plucking away on his violin. A beautifully shot and performed song in gorgeously empty surroundings. The band joining him on his journey as the video plays out.
Flax told us that “2019 Is a Year of Collaboration” and this is just the beginning in a line of video performances highlighting his fluidity and adaptability as a performer.
The video was shot by the fantastic Kilian Fischer (Fischbowl Productions) one lovely afternoon in Franklin Park and features Rob Taylor on bass and Jacob Matheus on guitar. Jacob and Rob T. go by “barrenOaks” as a duo project. Check them out below and keep an eye and an ear out for more from these two.
