Light It Up: Club Passim’s campfire. is this Weekend
Twice a year a mammoth amount of talent descends on 47 Palmer Street for a long, long weekend. Some artists we already know and love, some artists will become new favorites.
So, lets not mince words and give you a couple tid bits on who we think you all should get out to check out.
Friday night is super fresh to my eyes and ears with the exception of the closing set with Sean Trischka and Mairi Chaimbeaul. This is all the more reason to get out and explore some new music as you and bound to find something you love…
Saturday is stacked with some friends we have collaborated with in the past on projects and love to see on this line up. Locals Covering Locals alums Cardboard Ox kicks things off first thing followed by an in the round inclusive of our pal Izzy Heltai (for whom we filmed an Old Spruce Session with a while back). Moving on to the mid afternoon songwriting rocker Jeff Butcher grabs a 3:45 PM set and another in the round hosts pal (and fellow Vermonter bud) Dave Richardson…immediately afterwards the gorgeous songs of Hawthorn will melt hearts. ANOTHER, round that is sure to impress includes Hayley Sabella, who released a beautiful new record this year and Lisa Bastoni. And perhaps what we are most excited to watch unfold on the Passim stage is Walter Sickert & The Army of Broken Toys.
Monday. Yup, it is a holiday weekend after all. Two of my favorite songwriters share a split set. When Rachel Sumner and Ian Fitzgerald sing together, well it moves mountains. Beautiful harmonies and swapping on one another tunes will surely make for a special set. Rachel also has a new EP on the horizon for release that is one of the most highly anticipated of the year in our book. The rest of the day is dotted with in the round sets featuring friends Julia Mark and Mally Smith…plus, a whole lot more.
Get out folks. Buy tickets today.
