Green Mountain Bluegrass and Roots Sweetens the Pot With Line Up Additions
Just when you thought a better line up of contemporary roots and bluegrass’s best couldn’t get any better…well it does.
When we first wrote about GMBR the likes of Mandolin Orange, Jordan Tice, Bobby Britt and so many more were making us giddy to get down to Manchester in August. Since then, the line up has expanded…no, exploded, even further. First adding singer-songwriter and one of the best pickers in the world, Molly Tuttle and following it up quickly with the addition of mandolin maestre Sierra Hull and legend Peter Rowan.
But, it didn’t end there. A few months later yet another addition fell into our laps with some Beantown favorites, Lula Wiles and Twisted Pine.
And still, it continues with the announcement of some excellent Vermont based bands in Saints & Liars, Luminous Crush, Chasing 440 and the Green Mountain Playboys (already adding to two excellent Green Mountain acts on the early edition of the bill).
And guess what…it still hasn’t ended as the news of the Stray Birds disbanding left some space for yet another locally sourced juggernaut (and pushing the mandolin contingent ahead bit a smidge) as just yesterday Matt Flinner Trio was announced.
Is this the end? Well, I am sure that acts may appear on the fly as collaborations unfold and even never before seen collisions of music brilliance pop up on stage and off throughout the weekend.
One thing is for certain, we are excited and ready for anything…
You can still pick up tickets for this incredible event and celebration of music, food and all things Vermont. A 4 day pass is just $110 ($120 at the gate). So, do it today folks.
