Fresh Track: Maxwell Bailey ‘Movie Stars’

This Friday singer-songwriter and curator of the Noise Floor Sessions Maxwell Bailey celebrates the release of a new EP, In Between Live. The project, which was recorded live in an Airbnb on one day in February, may be simplistic in the number of tracks and arrangement but it is crisp and clean. The words ring, each note reverberating below Bailey’s effortlessly smooth vocal.

He tells us, “Movie Stars is one of my favorite songs that I’ve written because it’s a love song about my life with a very special person. We’ve been through a lot together, but have never let circumstances dictate our relationship. In tough times, we turn to each other because that’s where we feel right at home and safe. I wrote this track as a tribute to our epic love story that we’re continually writing and building together. This song is about believing in yourself and the one you’re with, and making your own luck up as you go. It’s about knowing that you’re bound for greatness and dreaming up your own reality. When stress is high, I play this song to remind me that things are all right and that circumstances are only as real as you allow them to be. This song was written, so that one day, when we’re living like movie stars without a care in the world, we can laugh.”

Check out the live video of the track below and keep an eye on the ol’ Spotify machine this Friday for the full album to drop….or get out to the 6B Lounge in Boston every Sunday for the open mic Maxwell hosts and next week’s (6/20) Noise Floor Sessions at Aeronaut Brewery in Somerville where Bailey celebrates the EP’s release.
