What about it: “This simple melody came to me the night of January 20th, 2017. In the spirit of what happened earlier that day, I hoped to convey a sense of contemplation, fear and ultimately hope. I enjoy playing my compositions in different settings to see what possibilities unfold working with the same material. It was interesting to record both solo and trio versions of this tune and see what essential/defining character came through.” – Andrew Stern
