Green Mountain Bluegrass and Roots Adds Sierra Hull and Peter Rowan to Line Up

We’ve been keeping an eye on the Green Mountain Bluegrass and Roots festival’s social media pages and website for the last couple of weeks. The event promises to bring some of the most talented folks in what one may call “Americana” and others may call “roots” music today (it doesn’t matter, because its all just incredible).

One of the masterminds behind the event, Jill Turpin, mentioned this to us about the need to bring this type of intimate, but impeccably curated event to the area,”Melomania is a term that describes a person who is obsessed with music and or finds it difficult to go a day without listening to it. That is us in a nutshell. One of our greatest joys is sharing music. We love listening to it, playing it and experiencing it. It’s a part of our history and we are thrilled to tell you that it will now be a part of our future.”

And that is just what the folks behind the scenes at Green Mountain Bluegrass and Roots are doing. Just this morning it was announced that mandolinist and singer-songwriter Sierra Hull was added to the already stacked line up as well as legendary bluegrass staple Peter Rowan. Rowan’s set is being billed as “Peter Rowan’s Carter Stanley’s Eyes” and judging on his record slated for later this year its sure to be a treat and homage to the rich history of the music we love so much. Today’s announcement is also is a beaming example of GMBR’s mission to curate a line up of the artists in today’s landscape that are paying homage to the past as well as highlighting the artist who paved the way for all of us.
