Thats right, shows. Plural, more than one that you should know over the course of the next week…well, NEXT week, starting this Saturday in our little ole Burly.
Zach Schmidt is one of my favorite songwriters. Zach Schmidt is one of my favorite singers. Zach Schmidt is one of my favorite performers. Zach Schmidt is one of my favorite humans.
Schmidt’s 2016 release “The Day We Lost The War” may be just over 1 year old at this point but its staying power is unrivaled. I continue to listen to this album again and again and find something new to love about it. To quote myself “It’s just fucking great.”. The dovetailing of great, introspective but accessible songwriting with musicality that forces you to move and all put out there with genuine sincerity is hard to come by but Zach is king of the realm.
He will be hitting up the Northeast all next week around the Thanksgiving holiday and performing alongside some of our other favorite acts form the Northeast including The Silks and Cowboy and Lady’s Tyler James Kelly, The Low Cards and Muddy Ruckus. And while the full band won’t be along for the ride the word on the street is the one and only Jackie Berkley will be duo-ing it up and adding some gorgeous and raucous harmonies to the shows. So get there.
We will be out in full force at the Burlington show and who knows…maybe get away from family a bit while down in Mass to hop to Rhodey to catch another show as well. Full list below, but in the meanwhile, check the Old Spruce Session we shot with Zach at the Columbus Theatre just about a year ago around this time.
