The Boston Foundation Grant Deadline: November 30th

Money and arts. Something that more often than not doesn’t quite dovetail in the way that we hope for as artists, but there is hope out there for those who are trying to make a living (or a difference) with their art.

In 2018 the Boston Foundation‘s Live Arts Boston program will give away $750,000 in grants of up to $15,000 for new and/or culturally-specific performing arts work, including touring and recording projects, created or presented by Greater Boston-area folks in 2018.

Our friend and Boston Foundation consultant Eva Rosenberg says about the program, “I’m excited about this new grant program from the Boston Foundation because it directs resources towards individual artists and grassroots producers/presenters to do the work that is vital to them. Live Arts Boston seeks to fund projects where artists are challenging themselves, taking creative risks, and stretching towards new possibilities in their work. This year, in addition to grants of up to $15,000 in project-specific support, grantees will receive artistic mentorship, assistance documenting their work, training in business planning and filing taxes, and opportunities to network as a cohort and with performing arts professionals from across the sector. I hope many Boston-area musicians will apply – Live Arts Boston wants to fund your work and help the local music scene thrive!”

Applications are open now through November 30…a mere couple days away…and while we sadly cannot apply for our own community supporting efforts as Vermont residents now, you can if you are within the catchment area around Boston. So head on over and read up about the grant to see if a project of yours might be a good fit for next year’s round of grants.
