Show You Should Know: Sunaana Fest in Portland, Maine This Weekend

It has been unseasonably warm these past few weeks and while we still have a nice base layer of snow up here in VT its slowly been seeping up that grayed, brownish dirt hue that makes a rolling white hill of beauty turn into a mushy field of…yuuuuck. The good news is that the season of festivals is drawing close and already the Sunaana Festival in Portland, Maine makes a very early appearance and opportunity to catch 12 bands in a weekend…oh, and did we mention there will be A LOT of real good beer?

From the festy folks: Bold and cold! Sunaana is a winter festival created to embrace the time of year when the days are short and the nights are long. The experience is a unique and groundbreaking mix of emerging musicians from Maine, Iceland, and beyond, contemporary performance (circus and modern dance), and the craft beer industry’s “best of the best” beers, hand-selected by Portland’s rising star brewery, Bissell Brothers Brewery. Portland is fast becoming the epicenter of New England’s cultural, economic, and political engagement with the North Atlantic, and Sunaana is designed to mirror this trend, serving as a hub for regional and international development and celebration. The 2017 event plants the seeds of the Sunaana brand that will ultimately grow into a city-wide winter festival that blends music, art, food, beer, and outdoor recreation for years to come.

Thats THIS weekend, March 4 from the early afternoon at 1 PM all the way through the night ending at midnight. Check it out and get there folks!
