Its almost December…what happened to 2016? Both in a time sense and also, seriously what happened this year? But I digress. Music can help heal all of your sorrows and wounds to your heart and why take in one fantastic artist to help soothe your soul when you can take in three in one night? Right?
Gallery 263 is a venue that presents artists performing songs in about as intimate a way as you can experience songs (aside from in your living room, which we also are fully supportive of here at RLR). The performances are mostly fully acoustic, unplugged and you are right up on the songwriter, hanging on every word. The shows we have caught there has been brilliant and this one is no different.
Emily Mure has become a favorite of ours over the years. Her voice is “beautiful…full of emotion…effortless”. Her original songs are pensive and thoughtful, and the spins she puts on some very clever covers have also been much appreciated by our ears.
Aurora Birch came to my ears by way of another good friend and fantastic songwriter. From the first listen I was hooked in. There is a brutal honesty to her music and words. Containing as much beauty as it does badassery. Raw, unfiltered and the way that songs were meant to be.
Dave Richardson rounds out the night and while his recorded music is new to me, his name isn’t. We caught a couple tunes from him over the summer while we were at the Chelsea Farmer’s market up here in Vermont and the dude hits New England pretty hard, hitting everything from said farmer’s market to some of our favorite staples (Skinny Pancake) and pretty much every coffeehouse and brewpub in between.
This is sure to be a great night, so get on out and enjoy some fantastic songs and stories from three great local artists.
The show is $10.
