Peep This: Rachel Sumner Performs ‘Bones’ By Rachel Sermanni

I love shooting one taker videos and that is literally what we did this past Friday with singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Rachel Sumner.

After a few hours of filming some band stuff with her trio I asked if she might want to shoot something quick and off the cuff and she said “sure”. What she landed on was this waltzy, spooky tune penned by Scottish folk artist Rachel Sermanni called ‘Bones’.

Sumner is probably best known for her work as the guitar player and singer from Boston’s bluegrass quintet Twisted Pine and duo Sumner & Moss, but on her own she shines. With an attitude and drive in her guitar playing and a voice that is all timeless bluegrass and lonesome cry she is sure to strike a chord and dig deep into your heart with her voice.

Check out this take on “Bones” and check out her new website (with some photos by a certain writer with a camera…).
