Peep This: Emily Baker With Rachel Sumner and Kathleen Parks “Marry Me”

Something I find so great about the Boston music community is when people overlap bands and projects. Play together, share one another’s songs and keep the love spreading outwards. So, you know I was excited when I stumbled across fiddler/songwriter Emily Baker’s tune “Marry Me” yesterday. Which just so happened to be on Sean Trischka’s Youtube Channel and features Rachel Sumner and Kathleen Parks of Twisted Pine (and other projects of their own) on guitar and mandolin.

Baker has a gentle clearness and clarity to her voice. It floats like the light lines of her fiddle runs, but every so often the rumble from deep down in her abdomen makes its way into the more passionate lines of her song “Marry Me”. There is a fire in this gal.
