Locals Covering Locals Volume 3 Is Released (And Free To Download)

12640220_950056345030666_3317751921225510422_oI still find it a bit hard to believe that we even got past the first release of the Locals Covering Locals project. At the time it seemed a bit daunting, but I had some very good friends and confidants in my corner the first time around in Sam Margolis and Andrew Kramer at Riverview Studios to help drive the sessions and output a cluster of songs that was beyond my wildest expectations for the recording.

We kicked into the sessions for Volume 3 in conjuction with some of the final Sessions for Volume 2. I believe Dietrich had come in the same day to track his take on David Champagne’s “Among the Stars” earlier on the day that Dinty and Sarah Borges were in for their Volume 2 additions. So, a lot of these songs have been sitting in the can for nearly a year at this point (and I still enjoy each and every listen). I can’t begin to say how grateful I am to everyone who has contributed in some way to this project. It has been an absolute dream to see this come to life, originally through the gift of an Iguana Fund through the graciousness of Club Passim, to a partnership to get Volume 2 pressed with 9 Athens Music, Dirt Floor Studios giving us the gift of mastering for the first volume, and of course the people who were in the studios for those sessions. All the artists who shared songs of their favorite writers and those writers who allowed their stories to be given a new voice in the LCL venture. Most importantly the two folks who really gave this thing an audible voice and are two of the best people to work with in the business, Sam Margolis and Andrew Kramer at Riverview Studios. I can’t sing their high praises enough for providing their brilliance and ideas, as well as an atmosphere that could not be more inviting and welcoming for people to and record in.

So, before I go off the handle and get too sappy. Volume 3 is indeed up and streaming (and also available for FREE download). That’s in the player below or at THIS LINK.

So, I now ask of all you, please share this, please download this, and please keep these songs moving outward and reaching more people. This is after all a project that was made FOR the community BY the community. I hope you all enjoy this as much as I enjoyed producing it…keep on keepin’ on.
