Freshgrass Festival Is Just a Week Away!

As August wound down and September tempts us with promises of apples, hard cider, changing leaves and pumpkin flavored everything I thought my days of festivals were winding down as well…turns out that isn’t quite the case as I remembered that Freshgrass is just a week away!

September 18-20 marks another year of the Bluegrass focused festival with artists ranging from the genre bending Punch Brothers to up and comers in the Band, Duo, Banjo and Fiddle contests. Freshgrass is a festival that spans across all levels of music and gives opportunities to acts just getting their tour van legs to play alongside acts that heavily influence the genre.

Stand out acts for this years fest in my own eyes are Punch Brothers, Sarah Jarosz + Sara Watkins + Aoife O’ Donovan (aka I’m With Her), The Ballroom Thieves, the Berklee Roots showcase and the legendary Del McCoury band, but there is something for everyone at this wonderful fest.

With 50 bands and a ticket price that is more affordable than pretty much every other festival out there (essentially 2 bucks a band!) this is a weekend of great music that is not to be missed!

Hope to see you all out in North Adams next weekend.

Tickets are still available here: http://freshgrass.com/get-tickets/
