New Video: The Meadows Brothers – Side Porch Sessions

If you have been playing music for a long while, and that long while dips into your more youthful and younger years, chances are you have fond memories of “the place”. The place where you spent countless hours playing, practicing, learning how to sing, how to play, what works, what doesn’t work…or in my case sneaking skunked beers into my buddy Libbs’ parents basement and playing until the early hours of the morning.

For Ian and Dustin Meadows, their ‘place’ is perhaps a bit less moldy and damp than mine, but it still contains all those feelings. The learning, the “ah-ha” moments and is left with the mark of dedication and good times. They are now sharing a new, great series called “Side Porch Music” where they perform their songs, many written and sculpted right there on the porch, in videos to share with all of us.

Ian Meadows said about the series, “When we started playing music, we would sit out on the screened-in porch of the family home and play music into the early morning hours. We learned (and are still learning) how to sing harmony, how to play off each other, and learned about what makes a good song. This has been an ongoing nightly occurrence for the past five years, so we decided we’d bring a camera out and record some video right where our songs take shape.”

The first video is of their song “Understanding You”. It would be in your best interest to head on over to https://themeadowsbrothers.bandcamp.com/ and pick that record up for yourself…right now…or first, I guess I’ll allow checking out the great new series. I look forward to many more of these sessions. Check it…
