Video Premiere: SOFAR Sounds Presents White Like Fire ‘Dirty Hands’

The concept for SOFAR Sounds is one that I am a) extremely jealous of and b) am extremely happy exists.

White Like Fire’s lead singer strongly reminds me of our pal Will Dailey. Proclaimed as “as radio ready as anything that comes out of this city.” by the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, in no time you will find yourself bopping your head along to the grooves and melodies of the band. Catchy as f*ck tunes with emotional tinges crisping the edges of greatly executed and interesting arrangements. Not emotional in the “emo” sense of the word, emotional in the way that it grabs you and leaves a mark, but you are having fun and smiling while feeling these perhaps slightly deeper and more poignant emotions. Its good man, real good.

The faint cry of the mandolin in the mix…you know I am hooked. The band proclaiming out in singalong jubilation towards the end of the tune. ‘Dirty Hands’ is just another log on the fire of reasoning for my description of the band as “the catchy rock quartet that isn’t quite rock n’ roll but definitely not straight on pop-rock has an infectious sound that is surely worth giving a listen or 10 to.”

So go on ahead and give a listen…

***Songs From a Room began in London in March 2009. It is an innovative concept dedicated to bringing the best new music to intimate, unusual spaces or venues, most often someone’s living room. Three to five artists are invited to play short, unplugged or stripped down sets. Mix in a crowd of dedicated music lovers, creatives, and industry professionals, and you have an event which promises a moving and memorable experience for all.
