Hey Mom, I Got an Iguana Grant from Passim (and so Did My Friends)!!!

Well its that time of year, the time of giving and being thankful. It’s not secret that I hold a very special place in my heart for Club Passim and all the folks involved in bringing you great music at a wonderful listening room over there. Even before we received an Iguana Grant last year, this was a place that was special and different in my eyes. Well, the announcement is out and the 2014 Grant Recipients are…

2014 Iguana Music Fund grant recipients:

Peter Winne (Community Square Dance in Portland, ME)
Realta Gaela (Trad Youth Exchange)
Red Line Roots (‘Locals Covering Locals, Vol 2’)

I cannot wait to see what all of these amazing folks do with their respective grants. I know that The Old Guitar, Dare to be Square and The Meeting House Tour already have incredible community building ideas in the mix and I can see that a whole slew of amazing personal projects are going to come to fruition as a result of this. Such a special thing!

Oh yeah…not that you had a question, but our grant will be funding Volume 3 of Locals Covering Locals. Now…onto booking the artists for this thing.
