This is insane. I mean really. The line up is Eric Lichter, Ian Fitzgerald, James Maple, Smith&Weeden, and Forts/Gainesville. Link here for tickets and stuff, but here are 5 reasons you should hit up this show.
1) Eric Lichter is know for producing incredible records in his studio down in the woods of Chester, CT. Some of my favorite albums EVER come from his place. But the dude also has a voice that is a cross between Neil Young and Jesus and he writes incredible songs. Oh yeah, and he plays like 30 instruments incredibly well.
2) Ian Fitzgerald is the artist of the month for August for a very good reason, he is the best songwriter that I know. His lyrics are like intricate stories and so well thought out that they make you feel bad about your own songwriting, but give you hope to be better. Also, the mans stage banter is second to none.
3) James Maple is another giving type of guy. Playing on a plethora of other people’s records at Dirt Floor Studios, he is also a killer songwriter himself. With a voice that has seen the road and a bit of grit weaving stories about it…you don’t need a full band to love some rock n’ roll attitude. All you need is James with his acoustic.
4) Smith&Weeden is my favorite new thing. Like when you are a kid and get a new lego kit…except the lego kit has killer grooves and songs with great hooks blaring out of it. I love these boys and am just in my infancy of fandom. Killing it.
5) Forts/Gainesville is a run off of the band Tallahassee. And its fantastic. Brian and Matt of the band are a two man show that needs nothing more. Making you feel feelings while rocking out. Just a ball of energy in a smaller package…though Barthelmes bear hugs are nothing small.
GO TO THIS SHOW!!! ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR!
