Red Line Roots Presents The Big Reds V2: Nominations

Well its about that time folks. Another fall is rolling around, 2/3 of the way through the year will soon be upon us and that means its time for The Big Red’s nominations. I need your help though. See the main page of the website? On the right side there is a form. I need folks to go ahead and fill out their choices for the categories below. Be sure to fill it out completely, otherwise I can’t help you or take your suggestion (without an artist and a category at least). Anyway, see below for this year’s groups and start nominating away!

Favorite Local Female Songwriter – gal that writes good songs

Favorite Local Male Songwriter – guy that writes good songs

Favorite Bad Ass Local Rock n’ Rollers – the band that has that perfect blend of rock n’ roll with a hint of American roots. You know who I am talking about.

Favorite Local Fiddler – self explanatory

Master of the Low End – Favorite local bass player

Favorite Local Picker (Guitar) – flat picker, finger picker. Plays and acoustic guitar like no other.

Favorite Mandolin Maestro – self explanatory, again

Favorite Local Banjoist – self explanatory, yet again

The Twang Award (Favorite Electric Guitarist) – tele twang, or stratification. The local electric guitarist with the best licks and is always on fire.


Favorite Local Roots/Americana Act – rootsy, not to rocking. A fine blend.

Favorite Local Roots Duo – Duos highlight musicians the best in my eyes. So which grouping of two talented folks is your favorite?

Best Local Music Venue for Roots music

The Unsung Hero Award – the person who goes above and beyond for their community, never thinking of themselves

Favorite Local CD Released in 2014 – a great record released this year. Whatcha got?

Best ‘Supporting’ Role – the person who plays with nearly everyone and always adds a ton of wonderful things to their music

Favorite Local Music Residency

GENERAL RULES:
-Local to the North East (Mass, VT, NH, Maine, RI, CT, NY)
-Someone/a band who is out there “doing it”. That is, playing more than a gig every couple of weeks or months.
