Cambridge , MA June 20, 2104 — A donation to Passim, the Cambridge-based arts organization, will have double the impact if made between June 23-30, 2014. Members of the Passim Board of Directors have committed to matching donations up to $5,000 from first time donors and both new and lapsed members for the entire week.
The campaign is designed to drive both dollars and new memberships, creating a larger pool of individuals who have made a financial commitment to the organization and are committed to sustaining the community-based programs offered by Passim. These programs include the free concert series on Palmer Street and in Danehy Park, both of which showcase up-and-coming talent and bring music into the local community as well as the weekly open mic sessions that returned to the club in June after a hiatus, Passim’s Iguana Music Fund grant making program, Boston Celtic Music Festival (BCMFest) and more.
“Passim continues to be a cornerstone in the Cambridge and Greater Boston arts community. We are committed to our mission of providing truly exceptional and interactive live musical experiences and to building a vibrant music community,” said Dan Hogan, executive director of Passim. “Our board has stepped up, helping us not only to raise the money needed to keep these programs going – but to help continue to build the Passim community. “
Passim currently has a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council to conduct a feasibility study to renovate the club, including making it handicap accessible. It will also be taking over the operations of the restaurant inside Club Passim, Veggie Planet, which has decided to close in mid-August. Gifts during the 8-days of the matching campaign will have double the impact and help Passim with both of these major developments
All funds received during the week of June 23-30 by new donors, including new membership sign-ups and lapsed members rejoining, will be eligible for the match program. Donations can be made online at www.passim.org or sent to Passim, 26 Church Street, Cambridge, MA 02138 Attn: Match Grant.

About Passim
The mission of Passim is to provide truly exceptional and interactive live musical experiences for both performers and audiences, to nurture artists at all stages of their career, and to build a vibrant music community. We do so through our legendary listening venue, music school, artist grants and outreach programs. As a nonprofit since 1994, Passim carries on the heritage of our predecessors-the historic Club 47 (1958-1968) and for-profit Passim (1969-1994). We cultivate a diverse mix of musical traditions, where the emphasis is on the relationship between performers and audience and teachers and students. Located in Harvard Square, Passim serves Cambridge and the broader region by featuring local, national and international artists. Our ultimate goal is to help the performance arts flourish and thereby enrich the lives of members of our community.
