Announcement: Collaboration with For the Sake of the Song – Dylan Tribute Show April 30th

Over the course of the past year as a media entity (and even more so over the past 7 as a locally based songwriter) in the local music community, I have met a countless number of wonderful people and made an even larger number of great friends. I’ve shared numerous bills and stages with people who I have no business playing with and been welcomed into a musical embrace from some of the best artists and songwriters I have ever heard.

As of today, I have played host (or will) as Red Line Roots in a publicity capacity to two shows. One that was a huge success at Lizard Lounge for the 1 year anniversary and another at the end of March that hopefully WILL be a huge success at Atwoods Tavern (with myself, Sarah Borrello, and Joshua Black Wilkins). I love presenting great music and musicians as much as I love playing with them. I think turning the spotlight onto people I think are just wonderful and people need to hear is really the reason I started RLR in the first place.

For the Sake of the Song

April 30th that will come full circle, as I team up for the first time with another amazing locally, musically supportive group, my pal Patrick Coman over at For The Sake of The Song. I have participated in and been to a handful of his events and they are always amazing. The idea is simple, local songwriters paying tribute to some of their favorite songwriters. It’s always a line-up of amazing musicians paying tribute to someone that has special meaning to all of us in different ways.

FTSOTS curator Patrick Coman is excited about the collaboration explaining “Partnering with Red Line Roots will give us the opportunity to bring this show to a whole new audience. With so much common ground in raising the profile of the New England music scene, it seems like a perfect fit. We’ve been talking about a partnership for awhile and the timing finally worked out in our favor.”

Patrick Coman, Greg Klyma, Corty Byron, myself (Brian Carroll) and some other special guests will all be paying tribute to one of the most prolific and influential songwriters of all time….Mr. Bob Dylan.

Coman says “I’m excited to bring new and old friends together for this tribute to Bob Dylan. We did this show last year as well, and it’s such a special experience to see great musicians interpret songs from throughout Dylan’s catalog. It’s a testament to how hugely influential on songwriters of all types that we can bring together really diverse artists and come up with so many moments of magic.”

So mark it in the calendar. That’s April 30th, Davis Square Theatre.
