New England Americana: Line-Up Thus Far

One of the best things about “Americana” music is that it is completely objective. What one person defines the genre as may be slightly different than another. You may ask yourself this “what do a rock n’ roll band, a folk songwriter, a bluegrass outfit, and a rap artist have in common?”…give up? They all arguably could be considered an Americana act, given you agree that the definition of Americana includes “pulling inspiration from American roots and traditional music. Ok, rap may be a stretch, but still, the music form of rap certain pulls some of its rhyming and rhythm methods from blues and gospel, right?

Anyway, here is a look at the line up thus far of this year’s New England Americana Festival (pulled from the NEA website www.newenglandamericana.com)…and be sure to Pledge to the campaign to fund this year’s festival while you are at it!
