Peep This: Noble Dust “Tin Armor” Live from BearTone Studio
Boston based band Noble Dust identifies as “A motley collection of reformed band geeks” and while I can relate and agree to this on some level, the band’s aesthetic is far more than just this. The arrangements and general HUGE sound of the horns are moving and powerful. In that din it may be difficult to be forceful in a way. With so much going on a vocal could easily be lost, but singer and guitarist Emily Cunningham certainly does not suffer from that malady. Her voice cuts at the most opportune moments and the falling out of the band for floating and airy harmonies perfectly props up her voice. There is beauty in the power of all aspects of the bands music, but its balanced by just how damn fun it is.
Part big band, part pop rock ensemble, Noble Dust pushes out the kind of music that forces the air around it to get out of the way and the people listening to shuffle their feet and shake their hips. Its catchy, its big, its exciting.
Give a watch to the band’s new live video below and be sure to hit their tour calendar and check them out live. They have shows in Providence, New Haven and Cambridge in October.
